WHAT YOUR ORTHOPEDIC EVALUATION MAY INCLUDE:

  • Musculoskeletal Examination: This includes an assessment of structure, muscles, and tissue to determine impairments in range of motion, strength, and/or joint mobility.

​

  • Manual Therapy: Post-op or post injury, you may experience soft tissue restrictions as well as myofascial trigger points or tightness in traumatized muscle. We work to normalize muscle tone, eliminate myofascial trigger points and decrease tissue restrictions with manual techniques that can successfully resolve pain. You may also have joint restrictions that will benefit from manual therapy techniques to restore motion and function. Techniques include: Myofacial Release, Soft-Tissue Massage, Active Release Therapy (ART), Graston/Scraping/IASTM, Trigger Point Therapy, Joint Mobilization, Nerve Glides, and/or Targeted Stretching,

  • Therapeutic Exercise: To achieve your maximum function, typically an individually prescribed exercise program is necessary to further progress in range of motion, strength, and joint mobility.  Often a home program will be recommended to reinforce long-term results.

  • Modalities: Other techniques that may be used with the aim to increase bloodflow, flush out toxins, decrease tissue tension and re-hydrate tissue include: Theragun/Hypervolt Percussion Massager, Cupping, Electric Stimulation, Foam Rolling, Muscle "Flossing" and/or Heat/Ice.

RECOVERY SESSION MAY INCLUDE:

​

  • Soft Tissue Work: Following strenuous workouts, you may experience soft tissue restrictions, tightness or myofascial trigger points. We work to normalize tone, eliminate myofacial trigger points and decrease tissue restrictions with manual techniques such as: Myofacial Release, Soft-Tissue Massage, Active Release Therapy (ART), Graston/Scraping/IASTM, Nerve Glides and Trigger Point Therapy in order to restore motion and function.

  • Targeted Stretching/Joint Mobilization: Often times joint mobility work is overlooked in the gym, but it is just as important as strengthening. sometimes that tightness or restriction you feel is not from the muscle alone (or at all), but from the joint capsule itself. We will perform manual joint mobilizations and teach you mobility exercises to combat this and improve function, as well as, decrease stiffness. We will also provide manual stretching to help you recover from your workout.

  • Modalities: Other techniques aim to increase bloodflow, flush out toxins, decrease tissue tension and re-hydrate tissue including: Theragun/Hypervolt Percussion Massager, Cupping, Electric Stimulation, Foam Rolling, and/or Muscle "Flossing".
